During this evaluation, the physical therapist will assess your condition and determine whether physical therapy services are appropriate for your needs. If they find that therapy is the right path for you, they will create a personalized plan of care. However, this plan of care must be reviewed and approved by a physician before any treatment can commence. If you haven’t seen your physician specifically for the condition requiring physical therapy, they may request an office visit before signing off on your plan of care. However, if your physician is already familiar with your ongoing health issues, they may be able to approve your plan of care without an additional visit. This flexibility ensures that you can access the care you need efficiently and effectively within the Medicare system.
